The Role and Your Impact
As an R&D Formulation Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing and optimizing ink formulations for various printing technologies. This includes ensuring compatibility with commercialized inks, troubleshooting printed products, and evaluating print quality. Your work will require hands-on experience in formulation development, surface engineering for nanomaterials or pigments, and utilizing various characterization techniques to drive innovation and product performance.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a candidate with strong expertise in surface engineering for nanomaterials and pigments, as well as the ability to tailor formulations to ensure compatibility with commercialized inks. The ideal candidate will have experience formulating resins and inks across various printing technologies, with a particular focus on inkjet printing, and a solid understanding of other methods such as screen printing, flexo printing, and offset printing.
Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
Experience: At least 1 year in formulation development.
Skills:
1. Proficiency in troubleshooting and characterizing printed products.
2. Experience in print quality evaluation and optimization.
3. Familiarity with dispersion methods, including:
• High shear mixers
• Paint shakers
• Bead milling
• Three-roll mills
4. Hands-on experience with characterization techniques, such as:
• Microscopes
• Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM)
• UV and Photoluminescence (PL)
• Color meters
• Viscosity meters
• Surface tension meters
• Grind gauges
